Matibo's Salon, "Where color is what we do best," started its life Aug. 1, 2005. Matthew Deschenes, and his partner, Ibo Yilmaz, purchased the salon from Matthew’s father, Peter Deschenes, and renamed it Matibo's’ which is a combination of their first names. Previously the salon was in business for 30 years under the name of The Baron Hair Design.
Matthew Deschenes has been a hairstylist since 1983 and worked with his father at The Baron Hair Design until June 2000 when he moved to Florida for 5 years. For five and a half years, Matthew worked as a hair stylist in South Florida, both in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, gaining what he calls "tremendous experience" as both colorist and stylist, learning the latest techniques and styles. Corrective color and impeccable foils are Matthew's specialty.
Ibo Yilmaz, originally from Turkey, has lived in California and Florida, and was previously in the travel business. Top notch customer service is his main goal.
On March 30th, we got our Small Business of the Year Award from Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce. NH Governor John Lynch was there to congratulate us.
Also on Matibo's staff is Kathy, Matthew's sister, who has been working at the salon as a stylist since 1992.
Peter and Kathy are also very experienced in hair replacement services. They work with regular custom made systems as well as Virtual Reality.
Jennifer is a hairstylist as well as a seasoned massage therapist with seven years of experience. She is incredible in her color services; she also does Virtual Reality hair replacement services.
Michelle is a nail technician as well as an esthetician.
Samantha is a recent cosmetology graduate, especially good with men’s haircuts.
We always keep ourselves updated with continuing education. Matthew and Ibo attended Premier Orlando, the biggest hair show in the U.S. in June 2010. Our stylists always take either in salon or outside color and cutting classes. |
